Committees

We are looking for volunteers to help with the following:
 •Be part of the team in creating copy and coordinating dissemination of news and information. Work with our communications and outreach committee and the District public information director to develop a communications plan
 •Help gather and develop content and create updates for the RADAR website to keep it current and interactive. No web experience is necessary. Work with core web team and outside developer
 •Help gather and format existing articles and content for the RADAR newsletter. Work directly with Helene Fremder
 
•Community Outreach & Public Relations (COPR)
◦Develops and helps implement a communications plan to promote the goals of LM-RADAR
◦Engages and maintains key stakeholders in the process
 ◦Promotes LM-RADAR to the greater community
 ◦Educates stakeholders and the public about the work of the LM-RADAR
 ◦Collaborates with other committees to prepare and disseminate all press releases, draft and other communications with the public
 
•Board Governance and Maintenance (BG)
◦Assesses  the Community Board membership to help ensure a full and balanced range of participation by sectors of the community
◦Establishes communication and reporting protocol
 ◦Monitors compliance with bylaws and operating procedures, suggesting modifications to enhance effectiveness and efficiency
 ◦Develops a process for recruiting and educating new Community Board members
 ◦Coordinating team-building and recognition activities
 
•Youth Development (YD)
◦Reaches out to the youth groups of faith communities, schools, youth organizations and youth within the community to promote LM-RADAR's mission
 ◦Recruits and engages youth in all aspects of the LM-RADAR effort
 ◦Works with other committees to identify diverse roles for young people and to identify necessary skills, training and appropriate recognition for youth
 
•Resource Assessment and Evaluation (RAE)
◦Inventories and assesses existing resources addressing the community's identified priorities
 ◦Identifies gaps in the community response to risk and protective factor priorities
 ◦Reports findings and accomplishments and makes recommendations to the Community Board and the directors
 
•Risk & Protective Factor Assessment (RPFA)
◦Collects risk and protective factor data for analysis
 ◦Analyzes the data to identify priorities
 ◦Facilitates the prioritization process with the Community Board, the directors and stakeholders
 ◦Collects data and analyzes the data for prioritization
 ◦Works with the Community Board and the directors to implement surveys
 
•Funding
◦Develops a long-term funding plan
 ◦Identifies potential funders
 ◦Conducts grant writing as necessary, and communicates with funders
 ◦Submits monthly minutes to the Community Board and the directors
